Our Cambodian silver fruit is made by skilled silversmiths working in rural villages, practicing the craft which they typically learned from their parents or grandparents. They are available in a variety of sizes and, because they are made by hand by highly skilled craftspeople, no two pieces are exactly alike. Since they are formed using molds, each hollow piece of fruit is formed with a top and bottom that fit tightly together.
Our high quality, handmade Cambodian silver items typically have a silver content of between 70% and 90% and are decorated with traditional Cambodian motifs called “Khmer kbach.” The word “Khmer” refers to Cambodia’s primary ethnic group and “kbach” are patterns drawn from nature which are used in Cambodian culture to adorn buildings, furniture and home decor items and are also incorporated into the patterns on Cambodia’s famous handwoven silk.
Our handmade Cambodian silver heritage fruit pieces are available in a range of five sizes.
