Our handwoven Cambodian silk tie-dyed scarves are 100% silk and are woven on traditional wooden looms in rural Cambodia. Their crinkled texture makes for a fun and casual look. Currently available in four colors – navy, black, fuchsia, and purple. Approximate size is 24 x 69 inches (60 x 180cm).
These handwoven Cambodian silk scarves are woven by two sisters, third generation master weavers, and their young apprentice weavers in a remote village in Cambodia’s eastern Prey Veng province. That village was once renowned for its silk weaving expertise but, sadly, the looms there are now largely silent as most young women in the village choose to move to the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh, to work in garment factories. Kasumisou Gallery has been partnered with the sisters for many years in an effort to preserve and promote this wonderful art and to restore it to its once venerated place in the life of that village. It is our hope that, by increasing the demand for this wonderful handwoven Cambodian silk, we can make it possible for young women in the village to remain at home creating art rather than sewing blue jeans and t-shirts in sweat shops in the city.
Your scarf will come packaged in Kasumisou Gallery’s custom designed folding scarf box along with a product card briefly explaining the story behind the weavers. A wonderful gift for yourself but their compact size makes them a great gift to pack when visiting out of town friends.

It’s so light and so soft that I can stuff it in my purse and take it with me wherever I go. This scarf has become one of my ‘go to’ fashion accessories and I plan to get one in each color.

Gorgeous fine real silk, so light and floating, vibrant colour and just the right size to be both a scarf and a wrap. The story of the sisters who made it in Cambodia makes it even more beautiful.
