Our Plaid Lads® are made from recycled school uniforms by women in a sewing program at a shelter for disadvantaged women and teens in Bangkok, Thailand. With movable arms and legs and sweet, embroidered faces, they are real crowd pleasers.
Our Plaid Lads® are available with optional ribbon loops on their heads and limited embroidery (a grad year or a short school name) on their arm(s).
Approximate size, in standing position: 5.5 inches.
Each bear is packaged with a tag that tells the story about the shelter where they are made.
Our Plaid Lads® are not yet available for sale on our website. The school communities that contributed the uniforms have warmly welcomed them back home. All profits from sales of our Plaid Lads® to schools directly benefit the women in the shelter and no profit is retained by Kasumisou Gallery.
